About the Author:
This research report on Opportunities in the ADR Field in Georgia was compiled by Jennifer Matte. Ms. Matte is Vermont Law School graduate. The organization is known for having a reputation for fairness because it remains neutral in a dispute and works to get the problem settled without taking sides.

Mediation is conducted by a BBB staff member or a third party from the BBB’s roster of “professionally trained mediators”

How much experience is suggested or required?
BBB conducts its own training for people who wish to become mediators
They offer a three, four and five-day training in basic mediation skills.
Training is focused on an interest-based model of mediation which consists of six different stages. The training focuses on hands-on practical experience, and there are extensive role plays, problem-solving and skill-building exercises.
Trained mediators can volunteer for the local BBB by contacting their local offices. Local offices may have individualized specific training requirements
Currently there are no mediation training classes scheduled on the local calendar
