About the Author:
This research report on Opportunities in the ADR Field in Georgia was compiled by Jennifer Matte. Ms. Matte is Vermont Law School graduate. During law school, she completed an externship with the Consortium for Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. Her work with The Center for Legal Solutions, Inc. has primarily focused on the emergence of specializations within the ADR community.

Opportunities with the State Personnel Board
Policy is to provide for alternative forums for resolving workplace conflicts
Who administers the program?
Who is the director and what is their title?
Commissioner establishes standards and procedures for administration of the program
Who performs the mediation?
How is this determined?
Mediator selection is done by the commissioner: one or two mediators will be selected from the pool upon party agreement
What are the requirements for training in order to mediate these disputes?
How much experience is suggested or required?
A certified mediator will have completed training and certification requirements established within the program.
The commissioner is bound by the rules to provide for a course of instruction to train selected employees as mediators who will be part of an established pool
