Chris Annunziata, Esq.
Prior to opening a full-time mediation and arbitration practice in 2006, Christopher Annunziata litigated a broad range of civil matters while practicing with an insurance litigation boutique, as a solo practitioner and with a major international law firm. He felt that his experience analyzing litigation risk and recommending creative solutions to client’s problems could help other litigants resolve their conflicts.
Through his experience handling such diverse cases as business disputes, employment discrimination claims, wrongful death, products liability and negligence claims, Mr. Annunziata recognizes what factual and legal issues are relevant and significant to a dispute, and understands when to use that information to facilitate a critical analysis. Based on his experience as lead counsel or second chair in more than twenty jury and bench trials, Mr. Annunziata also understands the role of mediation within the litigation process, the role of the mediator within the mediation process and respects the attorney-client relationship.
Mr. Annunziata received his undergraduate degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. Professionally, he is a member of the Georgia Tech Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Association for Conflict Resolution. He maintains an active blog on mediation and alternative dispute resolution at www.ckamediation.com/wordpress.
Mediation Style:
Mr. Annunziata is committed to the mediation process and helping mediation participants break through the communication barriers that cause conflict. He understands the dynamics of litigation and can explain the cold hard realities of litigation, ask the tough questions the parties have been avoiding and steer the parties away from tangential issues to keep them focused on the heart of the matter.
Suggested Preparation for Mediation:
Mr. Annunziata believes that parties should prepare for mediation as they would for a court hearing on the matter. Nothing impedes a successful result more than a party who is not prepared to discuss all the issues involved. Also, the parties must bring the person with the ultimate decision making authority. He finds that a decision maker “on the phone” does not fully understand the process and does not have all the information necessary to make an informed assessment of the case.
Hourly Rate Per Party:
| 2-Party Case | 3-Party Case | 4-Party Case |
| $100.00 | $87.50 | $75.00 |
As indicated, the cost of mediation is split equally among all parties unless otherwise agreed in writing. In most cases, your cost for mediation is simply your share of your mediator's hourly fees. See FAQ: How Much Mediation Costs.
Court-Ordered Mediation: Mr. Annunziata is registered with the following mediation programs:
Personal Interests and Hobbies:
Chris lives in the “West Midtown” area of Atlanta with his wife Melissa and their Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Enzo. In their spare time, he and his wife Melissa enjoy road cycling. Chris is also the Team Director for a local cycling team and occasionally competes in amateur races. Chris has played golf since he was 10 years old and is currently teaching Melissa how to golf (which should give you an indication of his patience level). Chris also loves to cook, exploring both his Italian heritage and cuisine from around the world.
